Robbie Marino, the brainchild behind the success that is Harbour Light’s today, was born to humble immigrant parents that landed on Hobart shores by boat in the mid 50’s.

Robbie grew up eating traditional Italian food prepared by both his parents and the ingredients were mainly dictated by the vegetables growing in the garden. His earliest childhood memories include the smell of simmering garlic, olive oil and fresh tomatoes being cooked in a huge pan while he and his siblings kicked a soccer ball around the backyard (and once through the window into his Mama’s sauce!).

Robbie took ownership of Harbour Lights in 1997 and in that time used his extensive experience in hospitality to continue to evolve it into the award winning business it is today. Housed in a heritage building that dates back to the late 1800s, Harbour Lights today exudes charm and honesty and strives to deliver on its promise of an experience to be savoured.
